Facial Contouring FAQ

[Is it possible to not let the screw be visible?]

Many of us question if the screws used on facial contouring surgeries like V-line surgery are visible on X-rays.

The answer is YES.

Then, is it possible to not let the screw (used for fixing) be visible?
We don't want to let people know about my plastic surgery history or anything in any occasions.
We are also afraid if we cannot pass the airport inspection when travelling abroad!!

Mostly in face contouring surgeries, fixing screw is made of titanium. Titanium itself is harmless to human body, but the thing is that they appear on the X-ray. If this bothers you, you may choose absorbable material screw. This absorbable screw is called INION, which is the US FDA cleared. This screw does not appear on X-ray from the very moment of surgery day. About 1 year after, when bones are totally attached, they will disappear.

How is V-line surgery done?

“Safe surgery and Accurate Diagnosis is possible with the most advanced 3D CT”

Based on 3D information, detailed surgery planning is possible which will let Operation time and riskiness be reduced. Acknowledgement of the surgical site with precise structure of bones will lead to a successful surgery. Also, exposure of radiation is 1/50 less than general CTs which is much safer for patients.
