Is autologous fat graft permanent? If
not, how long will it last?
Engraftment after auto graft is permanent.
Its survival rate may vary depending on each individual, as differences can be
caused from the surgical site, injection amount, fat collection, fat division,
or injection method. About 60-80% shows engraftment, and PRP (platelet rich
plasma) from self blood is being used to increase its survival rate.
Even well engrafted fat may be changed due
to changes in body such as weight gain and loss. Also, due to aging (loss of
fat volume), volume may diminish as time goes by.
How is anesthesia done in nose surgery?
Is it painful?
In nose surgery, local anesthesia for the
nose and sedation (sleeping) anesthesia which goes through the blood vessels
are done at the same time. During surgery, you won’t feel any pain since you would
be sleeping due to the sedation. You will wake up once the surgery is done, so
you may stay relaxed while getting the surgery.
